My clients have some pretty amazing stories to tell, and who doesn't love a story with a happy ending? This session marks the culmination of Betty's weight loss journey...a journey that found her struggling to love herself and her transforming body. Due to its personal nature, this story is best told by Betty herself. Please read on for more about Betty's journey.
"Back in January of 2020, I started a journey of transformation. I started the process to donate my kidney. After being rejected to donate multiple times for my weight, I knew I needed to make a change.
I needed to lose 70-80 pounds.
It has been a long and tiring road. I have faced many obstacles including body dysmorphia and losing my confidence and sense of self. I have always been in-tune and proud of the love I had for myself, but that was fading with the changes my body was making.
Now, in 2022, I choose to believe in me, the beauty inside of me, and accomplish the goals I set forth.
I have passed all testing for kidney donation, I have lost 72 pounds, and now, I am determined to love myself again.
The road is still rocky. The pain still pokes through, but I know I can be the woman I am proud of.
I am stunning. I will believe in me again."
Though the real story here is Betty's journey and transformation, I'd also like to share a few details behind the themes depicted in her session photos. Betty's husband is a mechanic, so she definitely wanted to incorporate some sexy mechanic-themed pin-up style photos. The photos with sweets represent Betty's struggle in conquering her sweet tooth in order to lose the weight. Betty also has a tough side and wanted to represent that through the last set of photos where she donned black leather and dark lipstick. I'm honored that Betty selected me to shoot her boudoir session, allowing me the opportunity to contribute to her goal of loving herself again. I'm also so grateful she has allowed me to share her story with you!
