Hudson's parents, Megan and Mat, purchased a milestones photography package to capture his first year just as they did for Hudson's big sister, Brinley, so I’ve had the privilege of watching this sweet family grow over the last few years. I'm so thankful for their ongoing business! This is another family I never need to make clothing suggestions to. They have so many sessions under their belts, and they know my shooting style well enough that I just let them take the reins when it comes to wardrobe choices. I know they will always ace it.
Given this family's laid-back outdoorsy vibe, we have always shot their sessions in a country, wide open space style of setting, so this time I suggested we mix it up and shoot in Downtown Peoria. We got some photos along the Illinois River as well as some with city scenery. This session actually found us shooting twice, however. Hudson had a few minor health hiccups prior to our session, and on the day of this first set of photos, we thought he was just getting over an illness and was on the mend. It turned out that he had ear infections on the day of these photos. We still managed to get pretty photos, but it definitely took a bit of extra work. I was happy to offer a re-shoot to ensure we captured Hudson at his best.
We last saw Hudson and his family when Hudson was 6 months old. This session marks his first birthday! As any parent will tell you, babies change and grow so much over those earliest months and years, which is why milestone photography is so important.
