Though they live in California, Lilah’s mama, Amanda, discovered my work through Instagram. She reached out to say she’d soon be visiting family in central Illinois and was hoping to schedule a session for 7-month-old Lilah. I photographed Lilah and Amanda along with Amanda’s mom, stepdad and sister at Amanda’s parents’ home in Hanna City.
After Amanda and Lilah’s daddy, who notably met at Burning Man, were told they may not be able to conceive naturally, Lilah came as quite a surprise. She also surprised them when she made her appearance a whole three weeks early! Lilah loves her older brother, Pancho, their chihuahua (who is seemingly indifferent when it comes to his new little sis). She already has a love for birds like her mom and dad and is known around many local coffee shops! Amanda is excited to share her vintage 1982 Cabbage Patch doll with Lilah and looks forward to including her in their annual trips to Tahoe.
Lilah is VERY strong willed for a baby, and Amanda shares that she didn't know babies could be like that when so little. Ha! Brace yourself, Mama! If she’s this strong willed now, it’s going to be a wild and wonderful ride! Drawing from Daddy’s brilliance and Mom’s independence and ability to physically endure, I have no doubt this little lady is well on her way to a lifetime of accomplishing great things!
